September 12, 2006 "Some Major Changes"
I've done several changes to the workings of XF, mainly to do with the ranking systems. First off, the staff ranking system has been modified with more positions. To become a moderator, simply PM my account instead of using karma. The member ranking system has also been modified to suit the forums members better. The ToS is no longer in service, but most of the rules from it still apply. To see the new ranking systems, visit the XF Familiarization Chart which is an announcement on all boards.
July 26, 2006 "Contest Time!"
If you're a forum member, feel free to participate in the new contest being held. The winner will be given moderator status for three boards. Details can be found in the contest board.
As for XD, I've modified the stylesheet a bit to reduce glare. I've also managed to get the top bar working properly with transparency under IE7, although IE6 simply doesn't do anything, because it sucks.
June 28, 2006 "I Hate Internet Explorer"
I decided to have a little fun with more advanced CSS techniques. I was able to easily set up the effect I wanted in Firefox, but when I went to test it in Internet Explorer, it look like a destroyed piece of garbage. Unfortionately, Internet Explorer's rendering engine is so outdated it doesn't properly support any recent standards. After several hours of experimentation, I finally gave up and kept the old look in IE. If you want to know the actual effect I was doing, go to the news archive or a similar long page with Firefox or any other standards-compliant browser. Microsoft better pull their act together with IE7 or a lot of web designers are going to be pissed.
June 23, 2006 "Insert Something Here"
Another song added to the music page. Very old-school disco-like.
June 11, 2006 "Look At That, An Update!"
Out of boredom, I decided to add another song to the list. Other than that, there isn't anything new.
June 9, 2006 "Forum Changes"
Lately we've been having a lot of activity at XF, and although this is a good thing, a lot of issues have sprung from it. To deal with this, I am going to do some changes and clarify some things.
Thread Locking
Lately a lot of threads have been locked, much to the anger of some members. There is reasoning behind this. We want XF to be a sane place where things can be discussed and debated without becoming a battle of random nonsense. Unfortionately, many threads often stray away from their original topic. Although that doesn't seem to bad, it can eventually lead to complete stupidity if it strays further. Therefore, threads that start to stray off-topic will have a warning to get back on topic. If it gets out of hand, the thread will be locked. If the thread is a simple question that is answered, the thread will also be locked since there is no point in posting anymore. If you have something to say or ask that isn't covered by a pre-existing thread, please create a new one.
Board Rearrangement
At some point, the boards are going to be rearranged into a system that is easier and makes more sense. If you have trouble finding a board after it has been moved, PM me and I will tell you.
As for XD-related news, I've finally added another song to the rotation. If you want to hear more stuff, you can try checking out this thread.
May 16, 2006 "Yes, I Was Bored"
Once again, the site layout and design has been dramatically altered. I've also re-launched the ever popular music page, so go check that out. The new theme is called Light Business, and will be used as the site's layout until further notice. If you're a forum member and absolutely despise the new colours, you can change them to something else in your profile.
May 8, 2006 "Win2Mac Launched"
This time I have a reason for not updating, and you can find it here.
April 17, 2006 "The XIIIidiots Domain Wiki"
If you look to the left you will find that I now have a Wiki located here. The Wiki is a good source of information about the forum and can be expanded on by other members.
March 30, 2006 "Redesign Part Deux"
I was kinda unhappy with RRI since all I really did was change some colours, so I put some effort in and redid the whole site. This new theme will be referred to R2. If you have any comments about the new layout, feel free to suggest.
March 7, 2006 "Site Redesign"
Anyone with eyes should've noticed that the whole site has been redone with a new theme. The new colour scheme is called RRI and will be used for the site until I do another redesign. If you are a forum member and don't like the colours, you can choose to use Simplexity or something completely different in your profile.
March 1, 2006 "The Wipe"
Most forum regulars have probably noticed by now that the forums have been completely wiped. This is the result of the Global Moderator going on a rampage. He has been banned in everyway possible, so we won't be seeing him again. The forums will continue to operate as normal, with a few exceptions:
- Staff can no longer delete threads in their entirety. The only accounts possible of doing this are XIIIidiots and Kazakitaza.
- Anyone trying to pull off some sort of conspiracy will be banned.
The deletion has been pretty devastating, we lost over 10,000 posts covering more than two years of running. I want to make sure this doesn't happen again.
February 17, 2006 "Global Moderator Election Reopened"
Because of the sudden activity of members, the Global Moderator Election has been opened again. Apply now!
February 13, 2006 "Global Moderator Election Finished"
The results are in: rampancy101 won by two votes... with two votes.
February 7, 2006 "Global Moderator Election Open!"
The Global Moderator Election (TGME) has been reopened. If you would like to run, post in the board. All entries must be in by February 20th. You must be a registered member to run.
February 1, 2006 "Ooh, New Board"
I've added the "Computers" board to the forums for related questions.
January 31, 2006 "Very Small Update"
If you can find it I will hand over an invisible cookie.
January 26, 2006 "Jeez, haven't updated in a year..."
But now I have. I've added a few new originals and remixes to the music page, so go get those if you want. I also did some site maintenance, but that's not important, is it?
